The shop and the history
Fillmore, in the Town of Hume, was originally “Mouth of the Creek,” where Cold Creek met the Genesee River before the channel was turned in 1839 – 1840.The town was first established as Cold Creek after the waterway, then renamed Hume in 1822 for the philosopher David Hume. The “Mouth of the Creek” settlement became Fillmore in 1850, for President Millard Fillmore. Cold Creek powered early sawmills that cut the region's pine, buttonwood, and elm.Cold Creek Cutter's look is an honorary, androgynous nod to that past while offering modern services to the local community.
